Hydra Yong writes stories shaped by silence, unity, psychology, body language, and the truths people hide beneath what they show. Her work explores the fragile space between peace and power, often following characters who must understand others carefully before deciding what kind of person they are willing to become.
Her author name reflects her lifelong love of dragons: Hydra for the many-headed dragon, and Yong, meaning dragon in Korean. In her debut fantasy trilogy, The Tale That Refused a Name, the appearance of “Yong Bola” began as an unplanned coincidence — and became too amusing to remove.
